100% Made in Marseille
Presented in its most authentic and refined form, our Marseille Soap offers a natural, healthy and effective alternative for the whole family and household care.
Cauldron saponification
Our soap is crafted in cauldrons using the traditional Marseille method — expertise passed down from generation to generation in our soapworks since 1856. This process guarantees an extra-pure soap with a minimum of 72% vegetable oils.
Natural and hypoallergenic soap
Formulated exclusively with vegetable oils, it contains no added preservatives, colorants, fragrances or animal fats.
Biodegradable and non-polluting, it is kind to the environment.
The older the soap gets, the more concentrated and effective it becomes.

Marseille Soap is ideal for the whole family's daily wash. It suits all skin types.
It can also be used as a multi-purpose household cleaner. It effectively cleans, degrases and removes stains from all surfaces and fabrics, including the most delicate.
For household care:
Cleaning walls and ceilings
Nothing beats Marseille Soap for washing and degreasing walls and ceilings. Dissolve a handful of soap flakes in a bucket of hot water. Scrub with a mop and rinse with clean water.
Iron soleplate
Regularly clean a dirty or yellowed iron soleplate by rubbing a piece of dry soap when the plate is slightly warm. Wipe with a soft dry cloth or a ball of newspaper to shine the surface.
Mattress
To keep a mattress fresh and clean, simply wipe the surfaces with a damp washcloth moistened with Marseille Soap. Then wipe with a cloth dampened with clean water to rinse, and allow to dry all day.
Leather sofa care
Apply Marseille Soap to a damp, well-wrung washcloth or cloth, then gently massage the leather in circular motions. Dry with a clean cloth. This treatment will add suppleness and longevity to the leather.
Wooden deck
Regularly remove mold, dirt and pollution from your deck by scrubbing with a brush, a basin of hot water and a handful of dissolved soap flakes. This simple, effective cleaning will help maintain your deck over time.
For laundry care:
Homemade laundry detergent
Dissolve a handful or 1.4 oz of flakes in 33.8 fl oz of hot water and stir until you get a gel — your detergent is ready to use. Store in a suitable bottle and shake well before each use.
For stubborn stains
Dissolve 3.5 oz of flakes in 67.6 fl oz of hot water, add 1 cup of baking soda and ½ cup of white vinegar. Let cool and shake well before use.
In general, rub damp soap on dry stains, shirt collars and cuffs before machine or hand washing.
For more stubborn stains, proceed the same way but leave on for a few hours before washing.
Other tips:
Makeup brushes and sponges
Regular washing will remove dust particles and makeup residue that have built up over time. Gently soap the brushes without crushing them to avoid breaking the bristles. Repeat washing until the water runs clear. Dry with a dry cloth, then turn them upside down so the brushes regain their original shape.
Strollers and baby equipment
Hypoallergenic, Marseille Soap is ideal for caring for baby equipment such as strollers. Machine wash removable covers with a Marseille Soap flake detergent. For non-removable covers, scrub with a damp soap sponge. For odorous and stubborn stains, rub with soap and a little baking soda, leave for a few hours to loosen the dirt, then rinse. Allow to air dry thoroughly.
Shoes
Scrub your shoes with a soft brush dampened with warm water and Marseille Soap, and allow to air dry without rinsing.
Storing Marseille Soap
Store Marseille Soap in a cool, dry place away from light. It is a living material whose color and shape may evolve over time depending on exposure to air, moisture and light. It will nonetheless retain all its qualities and effectiveness. Our grandmothers used to let it dry for months in their wardrobes to make it extra dry and longer lasting.
